Hello,
my name is Kathy
McClintock and I am the Title 1 Math tutor/teacher for grades 3 and 4 at
Bath Elementary. This web page is a resource
page for third and fourth grade Math students and parents. The suggested
websites on this page may apply to other grade levels as well. Some Language
Arts and Reading websites are included at the bottom of this page. I hope you
will find this web page to be helpful!
What today's children are learning
in Math
Third
and fourth grade students are placed in the Title One Math Program based on
teacher recommendations, classroom performance and/or test scores. It is my
role to reinforce the Math skills that the students are working on in the
classroom and to help prepare them for the Achievement assessment in the
Spring. My third graders come to my classroom for 30 minutes two to four
times a week. My two fourth grade classes are with me for approximately 1
hour and 15 minutes every day. (In the case of my fourth graders, I am their
actual math teacher.)

Before speaking, first think:
Is it true,
is it kind, is it necessary?
If not, let it be left unsaid.
When you point your finger at somebody, remember the other three fingers
point
back at yourself.

Adversity is when you are going through hard times or troubles. How do
you respond to adversity?
Sometimes, adversity
can help us to become a better person if we learn something.
Think: What can I learn from this?
Remember: DON’T GIVE UP!

A note about Calculators:
Sometimes, I allow my students to use calculators in the
classroom. Calculators can be used to enhance basic concepts that have been
taught but should never eliminate the teaching of basic algorithmic skills.
(The third and fourth grade students are not allowed to
use
calculators on the Achievement test.)
